Simpson supports Amanda's law; some of their dampers are assembled backwards and/or won't open. If you have a Simpson vent damper and you're not too groggy to click here you may want to see if your model is one of the defective units.

Not to be obtuse, but what is Amanda's law about? I am not familiar with this one.
