Are those white things under the metal brackets porcelain or asbestos?
Those metal brackets look like cartridge fuse holders.
Take more good pics, and post them. I'd like to see more, particularly the other side.

Yeah,
Cartridge fuse holder. It looks to me like it's something one might use to set up a portable electrical grid like you might see at a construction site, circus, county fair, tent revival, etc..

I have no idea what it is, but I want one.
Could you please post more pictures of it?

Come on youse guys. This is in my territory and I should get first crack at it.
I think it is a panel used for portable electrics; maybe circus, tent meetings etc. I am serious.

I think you're right. It's similar in design to stuff I see the movie and video guys use when they're setting up and shooting locally.

Box is 16 x 8 x 6, weighs 27lbs, each side is identical and holds 6 fuses each. Not sure if the base of the fuse location is porcelain or asbestos. My guess is porcelain. Do not know what asbestos looks like. Back plating looks like Brass??? Both sides are identical in looks, operation and capacity. All the edges on the outside are set with heavy metal corners. Posting more pics. How do I contact some of you? I think I would sell it.
thanks ingrid

If Katen doesn't want it, I probably do (depending on price) it'd be worth owning just to run a few wires from it to an oak chair.
