This home has been modified to include living space above the garage. The contractor ran all the waste lines for the upper bathroom and kitchen through the garage. The waste and vent lines are all ABS and pass through the fire separation in the ceiling and common wall. I can only find provisions for ductwork meeting minimum requirements for fire separation in a garage but not plumbing, conduit, etc. While scouring TIJ posts I did find such products as the Intumescent Pipe Collars but their website indicates industrial use only.
