A long time ago I posted a request to see if anyone knew where I could find a feeler gauge for checking metal stud guages.

Anyone remember where I can find one of those?

How about making a cheater gauage from scraps steel framing? Mark the size of the gauge on the sides and slide it in your pocket or tool bag. Watch out for those sharp edges or carry lots of bandaides....maybe a tournequet.

Hi,

Just go to a hardware store and get a small plastic or steel drill/wire guage. It's nothing but a square or round piece of steel with a variety of slots cut in the perimeter. Get one for really small sizes.

I have one but can't remember where I got it. It's a disk with slots for 36 to 0 gauge and has "General No. 21 US Standard Gage For Sheet & Plate Iron & Steel."
