That fitting is called a "cross" and it's not supposed to be installed on its side like that. I've only seen those in cast iron, never plastic.

It's a double sanitary tee (and it's on its side). I see them quite frequently, like when 2 horizontal drains transition to vertical.
A "cross" tee is a bit different:

That white flex hose is what they sell at the big box for dishwasher hookups, I think. It restricts the flow too much for a clothes washer, IMO. And there could be trouble, since they are blowing water in under pressure in a crawlspace.
Just so happens, I had one of those T's on the main stack yesterday. Two back to back toilets upstairs, 1979 house.
My washing machine hookup was also kaka. I believe the stand pipe is too short.

Are washing machines designed to pump water that high? With the flex pipe and the kink at the end, the washing machine has to work overtime to pump water. And where's the trap?
Maybe it's the angle of the picture, but that horizontal drain looks like it is sloped the wrong way.
