Pretty Cool! I'd find that to be a real distraction while trying to concentrate on my work.

Well,
If you're really into light stations, the GSA auction for the Diamond Shoals light station just opened up on the 13th. GSA is accepting sealed bids through May 24th. It's located 12 miles of Cape Hatteras, NC. Two floors with 5,000 square feet of living area on the level beneath the helideck.

South of Kennebunkport near York, Maine.
I have an artists' painting of that lighthouse from September of 1988.
I was living in NYC at the time and my girlfriend and I were on holiday to Maine and visited the lighthouse and area.
Known as the "Cape Neddick (Nubble) Light" ... York, Maine.

I stayed there twice and thought it looked familiar.. (York)..
(PS-Pronounced "Yawk' by the way to those out of New England..)

Problem: How to speak in down eastese in order to blend in.
Solution: Practice, practice, practice
Down eastese exercise #1:
Situation: Private Speer has just arrived at a party in Bangor and can't find a beer. You offer to find one for him and you address the host. You say, "Private Speer is here. Where is the beer?"
You pronounce it, "Praavit Speeah's heah. Wheah's a beah?"
Repeat 50 times, gradually building speed until you can speak in a normal tone of voice.

I drive by the lighthouse usually a couple of time's a week ; the vast majority of my inspections in this area are Massachusetts folks. I moved up here 18 years ago and love it. Most of the locals have moved more inland because of costs living on the coast which is a shame but a reality.

Usually, you'll find those Mass-folks are from the "North Shore" and North/NW of Boston towns..
(Somerville, Malden, Melrose, Stoneham, Lynn, Revere, Saugus, etc).
The Shore Shore folks mostly migrate 'down the Cape' or more south .. to Marshfield, (AKA "MarshVegas") Scituate, Hingham, etc..
You'd think the trip across Boston Harbor was a million miles wide... some folks from either shore have never been to the other...

Rob----You forgot to mention West Roxbury or Needham on the Charles. Some of us can not sleep soundly without a mountain nearby. I have no fear of crossing the "M R Bridge".
