Does anyone have any experience with these type of units? It is installed in a home we have an offer on, and I am not experienced with them. Is the yellow handle the drain valve?

From what's visible, yes.

From top down, it looks like supply, steam to shower, TPR discharge, and flush valve.

What's the brand? I've installed Amerec, Mister Steam, Steam Mist, and Roma, pretty familiar with the ins and outs of all the makes.

Is there a vapor barrier under the tile?

Thanks Kurt. It is Amerec model AK7 e. If you're referring to the tile in the shower, I have no idea as the home was taken to stud and remodeled in 2007-08.

How often are you going to steam? Reason I ask, is almost none of these things are built "right". No one uses a VB under the tile; if yours lacks a VB, and you steam a lot, you'll have a mess in a few years.

Other than that, Amerec is a decent steam generator. Flush it out every month if you use it.

I am guessing there is no way to tell if they actually installed the VB now that it is finished?
