The juxtaposition of the art, frilly accessories and classic lines with the complete lack of maintenance or sanitation makes the tub shot a favorite of mine.

That looks like a clove-oil-under-the-nostrils house.

Rob, it looks like you have an eye for subject, lines, angles, shadow, etc. Start posting your stuff on some photo forums if you have an interest and get criticism.

And thanks for checking out my website.

I was actually kind of touched by the image. We see this stuff in a certain type of building in a certain type of neighborhood on a not irregular basis. The underlying stories are usually of dignity working to overcome economic and cultural canyons separating society.

It's not about the dirt. It's about the ability to inject some modicum of elegance into an otherwise dreary existence.

I am often offered tea or some hospitality when I'm in these places.

People's homes, while occupied, are "sacred places". I am often humbled by the humanity expressed in what I see. Not every home is beautiful, clean, tidy, or attractive, but they all exude their own kind of light that reflects the individuals that live their lives there.

Mike, I like your eye.

I am moved by fancies that are curled
Around these images, and cling:
The notion of some infinitely gentle
Infinitely suffering thing.

I agree!

There are days when I pull into my driveway and just smile. I never thought I would ever have a real house of my own.
