Does anyone know if the vertical seams for your water resistive barrier have to be taped?? I am looking for a code on this or is there anything from Tyvek that specifies this?? I have a client that has water intrusion issues and I am finding that the vetical seams where not taped. The builder used Cedar Valley shingle panels for exterior cladding and has butt joints on top of butt joints. Thanks for the help

If it's DuPont's Tyvek used as a WRB, then it's a requirement that all vertical seams are taped.

I'm sure I have the installation instructions that I could send to you.

If you want to go crazy you tape all of the joints and the staples.

I'm pretty sure it's the most recent. I also uploaded it here.

Click on "Library" above, then click on the section title "Exteriors".
