Jeff, Here is mid and upper Mich "white" pvc was first used in mid 70' for waste and supply. This was along with orange for hot supply. blue for cold potable, gray for higher temp and pressure. Point is: The color scheme was developed during 70's and 80's to what we commonly see today. The classic ivory has been around here since day one. PVA,CPVC,ABS, etc is a new product, to old timers, and has a colorful past!
