TREC Approved Septic Systems Inspection Course

When: August 13, 2010 - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Where: Holiday Inn Express, 15295 IH-35 Buda, Texas 78610 (The City of Buda is located 17 miles south of Austin along the I-35 corridor in beautiful Hays County with proximity to both Austin and San Antonio.)

This course is approved by TREC for 8 Hours of continuing education credit.

Septic System Inspections are a potential source of additional revenue. Most inspection companies charge additional fees ranging from $175 to $375 for these inspections. If you do not currently perform septic system inspections, you should and this course is just what you need to increase your bottom line.

This course will cover the following topics:
  • TREC Standards of Practice
  • Standard Operating Procedures for Inspectors
  • Traditional Tank vs. Aerobic Systems
  • Evaluation Procedures
  • Tank Construction and Installation of systems
  • Soil Treatment and Location Requirements
  • System Size and Other Issues
  • Functionality Tests and Evaluation
  • Recognizing System Failures and deficiencies
  • Baffles
  • Water tightness
  • Effluent Quality
  • Report Production - "Sample Reports to Use"
  • Company Disclaimers and Limits of liability
This course will be taught by Ken Martin. Ken is a veteran in the home inspection industry and has taught septic system inspections in a variety of classroom settings. Ken is also the Designated Representative for Van Zandt County; that mean, he is the person in charge of approving the installation of systems in that county and performing county septic system inspections.

This course is load with photo's. RETS will provide all attendees a resource CD loaded with sample reports, illustrations and installation manuals.
