There is considerable weight represented by the four parallel walls that comprises the two skylight openings. That combined with too little rigidity in the framing or some load path omission.
I understand Chad's view but I agree with Jim.

I would consider using a strong magnet. Did they screw they overscrew drywall?
always use minimum fasteners for drywall, around headers especially.
I know, that may not be the root of the problem. but would help moving forward.
