kurt
Look at the insulation. Kinda bumpy and uneven in a pattern very familiar to me. What's it mean to you folks? I have a disagreement with a service vendor about what it means. Click to Enlarge 37.84 KB Click to Enlarge 47 KB
Jim Katen
Rodents.
hausdok
Looks like it was compacted and then re-lofted. Is the disagreement over whether he actually blew in new insulation or not? Whoops, I'd only looked at the first photo when I responded with the line above. After seeing the second picture with what looks like a finger-sized hole in the insulation I'd have to say mice. Bigger holes with lot of crap - rats - but that's not what I'm seeing there. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
kurt
Yeah. Exactly. Rodents. I was pointing out all these trails and burrows, and the pest guy was saying that's normal and it isn't rodents. I had to double check to see if I was nuts. John Dirks Jr
In my area, if there's loose fill in the attic, it's unusual to not see the rodent burrows.
John Kogel
Rats. Mice are more discreet. But maybe they've had both at different times. [] I am amazed at how ignorant some pest control guys are. At least from the comments they make to my clients, some of them are truly clueless. inspector57
Rodents. You can even see the holes. Tell him to get his UV light out of the truck.
hausdok
Hmm, Let me see if I can figure out why a pest guy would say those aren't rodent burrows. Perhaps the pest guy got paid to eliminate the rodents and now he's not willing to admit that he might not have done such a hot job?
Rob Amaral
Rodents for sure.. I see this all the time....
Tom Raymond
Just last week I found squirrel burrows in cellulose. Nuts? Yup, a shit load of walnuts. Your client needs a new pest guy.
