His mother and I were a little upset that he dropped spanish to make room for digital photography in his schedule. He took these before school started with a tiny Nikon point and shoot. There are some technical flaws but the compositions are pretty impressive for a 13 year old with no training, even if I am a little biased. Maybe dropping spanish wasn't such a bad idea. For a beginner, I think composition is more important than execution. If he enjoys it he will get better at the execution. Learning photo software is a must especially with cheap cameras. They are learning camera functions, interpretation of others work, composition, and post production with Photoshop. Ill post his progress. User still has to master composition, exposure, sensitivity, depth of field, f-stops, and shutter speed. I like most of these. Today's phones have pretty good cameras on them for point and shoot.
