Mike Lamb
What would be an estimate to install a residential main sewer check valve and/or an overhead sewer system to help prevent backflow problems?
kurt
Parks would do a 6' caisson...check valve, overflow tee, bypass pump, etc.... in the front yard for about $8-10k, complications = another couple grand.
Denray
Kurt, what's a 6' caisson...check valve? Guessing a 6 ft up, horizontal with valve, and back down? 6' being the first defense?
kurt
It's not technically a caisson; it's just a manhole about 6' deep. The building sewer runs through it. When there's back up, the primary check valve closes to prevent shit from backing into the house. If someone flushes, it goes into an overflow sump in the "caisson" with a pump to pressure inject it into the City side of the primary check valve. The rest of it is like you describe. I got a picture somewhere.....
