Exterior siding identification

I've got hardboard siding that's giving me fits that I would like to identify. The markings on the back are "USP 3 347 85 C". I think it might be USPlywood manufactured at Catawba SC but I'm not certain.

It's swelling, edge checking, and pretty much disintegrating where any moisture hits it. I've kept it going with heavy coats of paint but it's going to have to be replaced.

Any help in identifying this would be appreciated.

Here's are a few pics. What's odd is the number has a backwards C at the end. Since the stamp was upside down, I missed that clue.

It looks like a distinctive design. I haven't seen any others quite like it before.

Hope this helps.
