Konrad
There ought to be a code requirement that says the thermostat on the water heater must be mounted high enough above the floor that little 18 month old toddlers cannot turn it down to "vacation" twice this week, and ruin daddy's morning shower!! [:-yuck] [:-censore [:-yuck] (also ought to be a law that allows me to have a high security perimeter fence at the furnace room entrance)

If an 18 month old child can get in long enough to play with the WH thermostat, you've got an accident waiting to happen.
Chad Fabry
I betting two or three mousetraps placed strategically in the room and on the control would deter any future efforts at ruining your shower. This method is also highly effective at traing dogs to stay off the front seat when you're not in the car with them.
Konrad
I like the mousetraps.. As for the latch on the door... That would require actual work, time, and a small amount of money. It's FAR easier to just complain about it here. [^] (But I think there's extra door hardware in the house, I am going to look into it.) hausdok
Okay Chad, I've just sent an email to PETDTMT (People for Ethical Treatment of Dogs Threatened by Mouse Traps). You can expect the picket lines to begin forming within hours. OT - OF!!! M.
