Neal Lewis
So i'm in the attic of this townhouse when I see the typical rubber plug used for duct cleaning, on a B vent. Hmm, the dryer vent was very close, could someone have mistakenly put a couple holes in the Bvent? Down in the furnace closet is the same hole in the Bvent in the pic, covered up with some foil tape and a wad of, what could been gum. The owner didn't know who the culprit was. There's a first for everything. Keeps you on your toes. Click to Enlarge 40.85 KB

David Meiland
Maybe someone stuck a combustion analyzer in there? Not sure why you'd go in the attic to do that, though.
randynavarro
Yea, that look like a hole for the probel for a combustion analysis tool.
hausdok
It might have been a furnace guy checking draw at different places in the stack. The gum looking stuff might have been intumescent caulk designed to expand and keep that hole plugged. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
Neal Lewis
Well, one of the holes in the Bvent in the attic was just covered with FSK type tape. I'm saying to replace the Bvents.
Darren
Hey Neal; That looks like the work of the 'tin-knocker' bee; that's a new breed working their way up from Mexico. Didn't they tell you about them at the clambake?

Didn't they tell you about them at the clambake? Darren, I was too distracted thinking about that lobster afterwards, interrupted by bed bug talks.
