Mark P
I'd enjoy the oppertunity to walk through the house.
hausdok
Seems a little steep. They could probably lift that, move it 150 ft. put down a grade beam and pier foundation and then put it on it's new foundation for less than $250K. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! David Meiland
You could probably raise it in place and R&R the foundation. $250K is more than enough, not including whatever it might take to repair the cracked brick and whatever other damage has occurred. Bill Kibbel
The house is in full-basement land. It probably has or was intended to eventually have a bar, gym and theatre.
David Meiland
I thought the article said it has not-deep-enough footings? With a basement it might have actually worked.
Bill Kibbel
David, for more than the last decade, most homes built here have walk-out basements at the side or rear, so much of the foundation is above grade in those areas. Footings not deep enough below the "daylight" basement foundations has come up in some litigation work I've done.

I don' tknow what they cost there; but I watched them raise a 100 year old Queen Anne here that was moving a little, put a deep pier and grade beam foundation below a 10 ft. basement below it and then set her back down on her nice new foundation; all for less than $125K.
