In-Depth
This is from a 2006 condo conversion. There are 2 double tapped breakers in the panel in the unit. The panel is a Siemens, the breakers are 20 amp Siemens Type QP L-5538, serving 2-12 ga wires. I'm thinking no, this breaker is not designed to accept two wires. I'm just doubting myself because the panels were professionally installed, and a city electrical inspector signed off on the install(not that either of these mean anything!). I can't find any pertinent info on the Siemens website or doing a google search. Maybe I'm just overtired and overthinking this... Jim Katen
No. Those breakers are not listed to accept more than a single wire. If they were, they'd be labeled for it. - Jim Katen, Oregon
