Old homes that travel

Recommended Posts

The inspection today was on an old home that had been moved to the country. No one was sure how old the home was.

From what I could tell, every rafter had been cut in about the same spot. Also, I noted that most of the Gable rafters had been cut about the same height as the rafer cuts. Is it possible that they took the roof off when they moved the home?

Would this be common? I've never seen one done like this before although I've seen the entire roofs removed and rebuilt once the structure was on location.

Thoughts?
