resqman
Todays inspection was in a neighborhood on the cusp of civility. House was a flip by a foundation company. They added this little bit of iron work around the a/c unit. Click to Enlarge 79.06 KB Click to Enlarge 71.85 KB Click to Enlarge 47.25 KB

caryseidner
Considering how easy it is to steal one of these, I actually have wondered why I don't see something like this more often.
ericwlewis
I inspected a double a few years ago where they installed the units 10' off the ground on each side of the house. It was a two story.

Garet
It can happen in any 'hood, it's just more likely in some than others. One of my clients in a new subdivision (as WASP and suburban as they come) came home one night to find his irrigation vacuum breaker gone and his neighbor's yard flooded. charlieb
I've inspected a few new construction homes with the condensing unit sitting in the kitchen. The HVAC contractor would set the unit and start the system up in time for the final walk through. I could not imagine purchasing a new home in that neighborhood. I've also been in million dollar hoods (that's saying a lot with our housing prices) that have had all the high-end appliances stolen out of the new homes.
