Robert Jones
Anyone have an idea what this row of cleanouts are for? They were located at the back of the property near the fence. I was able to remove one of the caps and there is another smaller pipe inside. Home is on septic which is located at the front of the home. Lawn sprinkler system is installed. Robert Jones
I was thinking something to do with drainage, but it is deep in the back of the lot.
allseason
Septic or municipal sewer? Septic fields wll have view ports built in. You can pull the cap and check for saturation.
Robert Jones
The septic system was at the front of this home. Unless for some reason it was moved and this was left behind. Home is eight years old and in a development.
Bill Kibbel
If they're 40" deep, they're groundwater monitoring wells. They are installed in relation to a septic system. It could be monitoring conditions for/from a septic system on an adjacent property.
Robert Jones
Thanks Bill. That would make sense as there are homes on the side and back of the home I inspected. They are all on large lots with septic systems.
John Kogel
My guess, but I wasn't there, is that the tank is at the front, but the pressurized field is there at the back. Each of those inspection ports would be at a branch line. Those systems use a small diameter drain pipe under pressure from a pump in the tank. Steven Hockstein
They are the air vents for the underground tunnel that leads to Control Headquarters. Look for the secret door in the basement of the house.

Most of those that I've seen have an embossed cap though, but not all.
