joatmon67
Can someone tell me how long this inspection should take? Scenario is a Vacant house in NW Ohio. 3BR with a 1500g tank, dual leach bed with a switch box for annual bead change. System then drains to a creek. ghentjr
Draining into a creek sounds sexy, but not legal. My septic never had beads. I would fail any system that "drained into a creek".
Bain
The beads sound sexy to me. Those things have to be handled carefully, though, or one can wind up in the ER.
Erby
Leach beds are designed to let the water leach back into the ground, not drain into a creek. Sounds like you've got all you need for recommending a fix.
Tom Raymond
Sand filter systems need to drain. Mine drains to the storm sewer via a lift pump. The guy who put it in says one could drink the water after the sand filter. While I don't think I'll ever be thirsty enough to try it, it should be plenty clean enough to empty into a creek. I have no idea why there would be two drain fields/filters.

plummen
Id say check with your city or states dept of enviromental qaulity for their rules on septic systems.
