finpro
I was wondering if anyone has any idea of the market size for aluminum flanges in the US. Or even an estimate of the percentage of aluminum flanges compared to stainless or other metal flanges. Thanks, Len
Steven Hockstein
Aluminum flanges are 36.725% of the Domestic Market, depending on whether you include the Kilbasy flanges or not. As home inspectors we all know the answer to this question because it is included in all Home Inspection Exams and we cannot be licensed without this knowledge.. hausdok
Yeah Steve, But people don't buy the Kilbasy flanges anymore because they only work with left-handed slobber daubers. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
Richard Moore
I heard that left-handed slobber daubers were making a comeback since the recall of the Righty-Tighty Drool Collectors. My main issue is that Steve doesn't explain if the 36.725% actually includes the Kilbasy flanges, or not. The NFFAA* website is also no help on that. John Kogel
In Canada, they are 'phlangers' and they are mostly polystyrene replicas. []
kurt
Rimshots, all around...... Len seems to be involved with something called Finpro....following text cut and pasted from google search... "Finpro is a national consulting organization focused on accelerating the internationalization of Finnish companies while minimizing the risks involved." Maybe we have an English as second or third language miscommunication issue.
Bill Kibbel
Kurt is correct. IP Address = Fin PRO USA Inc, Stamford, CT. They work with Finnish companies expanding into international markets. I think Len is asking a genuine question about the potential demand for imported aluminum flanges. Unfortunately, he asked a bunch of home inspectors attempting to be comedians.
Richard Moore
OK, but then what are these "flanges" as they relate to a home inspectors site? Perhaps what we would call flashings?
Marc
I think Len is asking a genuine question about the potential demand for imported aluminum flanges. Unfortunately, he asked a bunch of home inspectors attempting to be comedians. At least they did a pretty good job of it. [] Marc
