Marc Posted May 7, 2013 Report Share Posted May 7, 2013 It's a run capacitor for the blower motor. Capacitor-start motors have more power than shaded-pole so they're the motor of choice for blowers. For condenser fan motors too. A capacitor-start motor won't run without the capacitor unless you physically give it a head start.
