Mike Lamb
Can 2 AC compressor units be run on one 240V breaker. If not, what would the appropriate NEC reference be. Thanks. Click to Enlarge 66.05 KB
Marc
You can have a feeder circuit/sub-panel serving both condensers but you need a separate branch breaker for each condenser in order to satisfy nameplate specs. The manufacturer assumes one circuit serves one condenser. Wiring it otherwise would violates those specs. If that's a disconnect in the photo and it serves both units, something's wrong otherwise the breaker couldn't maintain the combined currents of both units.
