Commonly used in starter, control and protection circuits on industrial motors. If you got a larger photo, uplink it. It may have some delay circuitry on it too. It wouldn't be an AC condenser because the control voltage is 120 V instead of the 24 VAC used in resid thermostats. I dunno Mike. People do strange things sometimes.
