hausdok
What say you all? I know the answer; just thought I'd stimulate a little chatter here. By the way, I took this with my cheapo HFT HD bore scope camera. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
John Kogel
Yes it is a crack. But it appears to have been ground (with a grinder) and welded?
Jim Katen
It's where the edge of your camera scraped against the heat exchanger, scribing a line in the white powdery stuff.
hausdok
Bingo, Jim! But it wasn't my camera. Two days before the inspection they had an HVAC firm out to check out the furnace. They apparently shoved a probe in there before my own. When I went in there and found that I had one of those "What the..." moments and was scratching my head for a couple of minutes until I figured it out. Can't fool Jim K! Should have known better. Jim Katen
It was either that or an aerial view of the tracks left by the Jamaican Bobsled Team.
Tom Raymond
That's the problem with those cameras. You can't steer them, just bang them into stuff until they go where you want them to or you give up in frustration.
plummen
Normally a crack will have signs of rust/corrosion around it in my experiance anyway.
