Romex connected to male plug?

Well, the first thing that comes to mind is that the plug is not listed for use with NM cable. 110.3(B)

The cable does not "closely follow the surface of the building finish" 334.15(A).

The cable is not "protected from physical damage" 334.15(B) In fact, I'd say that the use of the plug makes physical damage more likely as the cable's solid conductors are forced to bend back & forth each time the plug is inserted and withdrawn from the receptacle.

The installation also does nothing to prevent the cable from bending at a radius of less than five times its diameter. 334.24.
