Boulder, Colorado – August 28, 2017 – A court in Boulder, Colorado has ruled in favor of the National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI) and against the International Association of Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) on NAHI's Motion For Judgment on the Pleadings. The decision was handed down on August 28, 2017. The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), in defending against InterNACHI's allegations, had entered the litigation as an Intervenor to protect ASHI's rights. InterNACHI filed suit after NAHI ceased operation and NAHI had asked ASHI to accept NAHI's members as their own. ASHI and NAHI agreed that ASHI would accept NAHI members at an equivalent membership level. They then became a part of the ASHI family.
