Carrying beam major twist

Recommended Posts

Came across this carrying beam today, I have never seen one twist as much as this. Any insight on this would be great.

I'd mention it, note that it probably twisted as it dried during the 1st year after construction, observe that it looks like it's now stable, and leave it at that. I see no need for a repair.

...noteworthy but NBD.  Must have been green at installation.  You don't get them this big at big box or local lumber supply.  I bet it made a hump in the finish surface.
