JesseWBryant
I swear I have seen this type of photo on here before, but I cannot remember. This is from a 1979 home with a Federal Pacicfic. What is the purpose of the "loop" as I see it. I hope it isn't something so obvious that I am overlooking. Thanks in advance
Chris Bernhardt
It looks like a split buss type panel with a 60 amp sub main breaker feeding the lower half of the panel. Chris, Oregon
rjw
What Chris said: If you look closely at them, you'll see the "upper busses" are separated from the lower branch circuit busses.
JesseWBryant
Thanks guys. Shortly after posting, I found my copy of Doug Hansen's paper titled: FPE Panels - Hazard or Hype? It had the picture I remembered seeing.
hausdok
You'll see those in all brands of panels. They're not uncommon at all in anything before 1984. OT - OF!!! M.
