Bain
I found it in a +/- fifty year old house. The plate merely says, "Automatic water control." The thing was wired into a 120-volt circuit beneath a kitchen sink. Chad Fabry
Well system...or had one? Pressure booster pump switch?
Bain
I can't know for sure, Chad, but the place was only a couple of miles from downtown, so they likely have always been on a utility-supplied water service. I actually Googled different iterations of GE and the model number and didn't get any worthwhile hits. Umm, and did I mention that I suffer severely from OCD? Neal Lewis
I think Chad's got it. The rating for 1/3 horsepower is interesting. Maybe the pump part of it was located in the basement at one time?
Tom Corrigan
This is a flow switch. It allows power to the garbage disposer only when there is water flow at the faucet. Tom Corrigan
ozofprev
There's a garbage disposal? Well, why didn't someone say it was connected to a garbage disposal? Bain
I never would have guessed. Thanks, Tom. I wonder if it was still working . . . I didn't energize the disposer sans water running.
