For what I understand you can only have a third of the brick on a overhang. That is half a brick. They install some trying to make it look like a moisture barrier but water was getting in. From what I have read this happens when they forget to factor in the air space between the brick and underlayment.As far as how much needs support I think it is 3/4 rather than 2/3 of the brick.
