Assuming that the vertical pipe is a drain and not a vent, the plumber shouldn't have used a sanitary tee on its back. he should have used a combo or a wye. - Jim Katen, Oregon
Darren
As best as I can see, the pipe gets larger as it exits the house; the clean-out needs to be as big as the pipe that exits the house. PS- Also looks like a Superior Wall foundation. Darren www.aboutthehouseinspections.com

Darren
Then, as per the plumbing code, table 5.4.9; a 4 inch clean-out is required. Darren www.aboutthehouseinspections.com
Jeff Remas
I am talking IRC and don't know what code you are referencing. IRC would begin with a P and sanitary drainage would be in the P3001 section. Please clarify.
Jeff Remas
This one is OK. Not how I would do it, but OK. It is sleeved and they are using a Wye. In addition, a 3" pipe only requires a 2-1/2" cleanout.
Darren
I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking (you're in PA). NJ has adopted a modified IRC; some sections of the IRC have been eliminated and other codes inserted. The Plumbing code is... http://phcc.files.cms-plus.com/Depts/Te ... tedWeb.pdf I have a 2003 IRC; P3005.2.9 has clean-out sizes. For a 4 inch pipe, clean-out needs to be 3 1/2 inch. Check that with the 2006. Darren www.aboutthehouseinspections.com
