If you have to flip through pages you learn where things are and why they're there. That's an aspect of code understanding that you'll never get from the computer.

That said, if you must get an electronic codebook, don't get a nasty PDF version, get the folio version -- it's way more useful.

Darn,

I wish you had posted that about 6 months ago. I was only aware of the PDF version which is a pain to use. I end up using the book 99% of the time as a result.
