LIgting Fixtures Recalled For Fall Hazard

CPSC Alert #08-300

Progress Lighting, in cooperation with the CPSC, has recalled the following ceiling-mounted indoor light fixtures because they can fall on someone and injure them. Inspectors finding these fixtures should inform their clients and the homeowner of the hazard.

Name of Product: Indoor Ceiling Light Fixtures

Units: About 7,500

Importer: Progress Lighting, of Greenville, S.C.

Hazard: A cable that supports the light fixture from the ceiling can fail, causing the fixture to fall and injure nearby consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: Progress Lighting has received five reports of fixtures falling, including a report of an incident where two consumers suffered bruises.

Description: The recall involves the International Series indoor (foyer) light fixtures. The light fixture has metal hardware and frosted white glass. The fixtures use either incandescent or fluorescent bulbs. “Made in/Hecho en/Fabrique aux Chinaâ€
