Brian G
I ran across this in a magazine. I'm interested to hear the thoughts of some of our masonry gurus (and anyone else) about this design / idea. It seems sensible to me, but I'm no masonry guru. I also can't help wondering if the masons might be extra sloppy if they knew this stuff was there. http://www.mortarnet.com/MortarNetfrontPage.asp Brian G. kurt
It's cool stuff, & it works. It is entirely unnecessary if the masons perform their work the way they're supposed to. Since we know that story line, it should be required. I live in a masonry city, & it's rare to see jobs performed in a workmanlike manner on single family residential; I only see reasonably acceptable work on high rise construction. Paul MacLean
Now if we can just get them to put weepholes in masonry...[:-banghead]
Amn
The best method that I've seen to date is to use wicking cords, set in weep holes, that are taped up the face of the moisture barrier in intervals. A
