Muskego, WI officials might soon stop inspecting city residences as they are sold.

The city's point-of-sale inspection ordinance was passed in the 1980s and was established to ensure basic safety in housing stock. It requires a city inspection of any residence being sold.

Muskego is one of just six communities in the Milwaukee metropolitan area and the only one in Waukesha County that has a point-of-sale ordinance.
