Mike Lamb
Does anyone have any Honeywell installation instructions as far as thermostat location? I searched and did not find. Thanks.
Scottpat
Locations for the T-stats all depend on the structure. Not in the kitchen, not in direct sunlight, not on an outside wall, and not in a closed room (unless the unit is for that room). I don't know of any specific location requirements. I see many near the main return, most of the time it is in a hallway.
Mike Lamb
Thanks, Scott. This is what Honeywell sent me Thank you for contacting Honeywell. We recommend installing the digital thermostats 5 feet above the ground level. In addition to that, the following things should be taken care of while installing a thermostat: â⬢ The wiring hole in the wall should be properly insulated. â⬢ The thermostat should not be affected by an external heat source like direct sunlight. The thermostat should be installed on an inside wall. â⬢ The thermostat should not be affected by any drafts of hot air or dead spots. â⬢ The thermostat should not get excessive voltage through the wires. Honeywell Customer Care I thought there would be more.
