ghentjr
I am thinking about residing with a cement type clapboard looking material. I have been out of the loop and wonder which of the two would be better. Hardi or Certainteed. Any thoughts?
randynavarro
In the Northwest, Hardie is most popular. Certainteed is around here but not nearly as common. Because of familiarity, I'd go with Hardie.
Jim Katen
I am thinking about residing with a cement type clapboard looking material. I have been out of the loop and wonder which of the two would be better. Hardi or Certainteed. Any thoughts? They both perform very well. Certainteed has, in my opinion, a more realistic wood grain on their textured product. However, as I recall, in CT, most folks use smooth clapboard, not textured. If you're using the smooth surfaced material, it really doesn't matter. - Jim Katen, Oregon
