The interior structure was all held up by barrels and whatever else was handy. Some had concrete in them. Some didn't. hausdok Posted June 24, 2010 Report Share Posted June 24, 2010 Now that Jim has mentioned it, I remember following my father into Wilson & Eaton's hardware in Amenia, NY as a small child and watching the old man grabbing handfuls of nails from rows of those casks lined up and labeled, dropping them onto a scale where the clerk would then dump them into a cloth sack.
