I live in VA and will be having some repairs done to my septic system. The conveyance line from the tank to a splitter box needs replaced. I have found that the water supply line (public water/ community well system) that was replaced a few years ago is about a foot above this conveyance pipe. It was not known at the time the water line was replaced that it was running over this conveyance pipe. It this distance legal? The county will be out to inspect the repairs and I don't want any last minute surprises. If the water supply line must be relocated, that is fine, but I don't want to draw the attention of the county official to any problems where he may become picky.
