GFCI receptacles are one of 2 legal (code) ways of replacing receptacles in a 2 wire system #1 is a 2 wire receptacle (never to be used in wet locations) #2 is a GFCI ok now you know the way a gfci works is simple it measures the current flow in and out on the hot and neutral if it is different it trips so if some voltage is drained off to another grounding point the GFCI trips easy right just an electrical teeter totter. My answer is the one i give regularly Power Roof Exhauster, its never a bad answer it eliminates the problem of prevailing winds, it prevents the short circuiting that a ridge vent would cause and it really sucks ... warm moist air that is!
