I have seen a lot of questions about oil furnaces, such as what is wrong, the age of it, parts, etc. Born in the mid 1950's, I have worked on oil furneces for three decades and I am a mechanical engineer. I am offering free common sense advice for those who have questions about the above items. There aren't many HVAC companies that will even look at waste oil burning furnaces and just want to sell you a whole new set-up. I am offering unbiased information, especially for those who have older oil furnaces, to help with options regarding this expensive decision, looking at home value, practicality, efficiency, financial and environmental impact.
