The engineer at the company that manufactures the water heaters says the foam core and solid core are both rated the same; it shouldn't matter which one is used.

Trying to determine type of pvc to use for venting AO Smith power vent water heater. One plumber says it requires solid core pvc-can't use foam core. (he can't find code though) Manufacturers manual doesn't specify-supplier says just schedule 40. [:-banghead]
