    Yes, home built in 2004! We just bought this house in November so this is our first summer. When temperatures are under 80, system works like a charm! With all the humidity we have now, this is when the problem started. The high ceilings are only in the living/kitchen area. Bedrooms have regular ceiling and master has a tray!

    The house is 1460 ft in living space with 12 foot ceilings in the living and kitchen area! My husband seems to agree the unit is not big enough! We have a home warranty to repair the items in the house, would this be covered under warranty if we had to replace the system!

    Above system was put in new 2004 and just bought this house in 2014. Anywhoo, when we hit the 85 or higher temp, the ac system just keeps running for one and a half hours just to cycle. Both ac repair guys said we have adequate freon and system is good. The last guy said to put more ceiling fans. The problem happens when we have high humidity which is pretty much all summer on the gulfcoast. Note: If we raise temp to 79 or 80, it will cycle but at 78, it just runs! ??????
