  1. Is there a problem being a member of 2 HI Associations, the one I am a member of at present has a good profile in my province, however I am finding another US based Association has a more active membership, benefits and forum input. I've seen plenty of Home Inspectors advertising dual membership, however I have also read on forums like this of members being "thrown" out of Associations for this very reason. I do not really want to get involved with any HI Association turf wars. Any input would be of help...Cheers
  2. I am replying to my own post just to let any HI's (especially in Canada) that the Relipro service is really good and their prices even including paying UPS express or expedited were cheaper than locally sourced suppliers. I saved about $300 Can, and had goods within 3 days.
  3. Hello, I was hoping to get any feed back from anyone who's bought tools from Relipro(AZ Branch). I am based in BC Canada and the situation for home based tool suppliers is pretty poor, RELIPRO seem to have some keen prices so before I part with my cash, just wandering if they're Kosher? Cheers Here's the link: http://www.reliableprocurement.com/index.html (Added by the Editor)
  4. This is of interest to me as I was involved in UK construction Industry, the last Home survey I had done on a 1000sq ft 300 year old cottage, as pointed out for benefit of lender, took approx 2 hours and cost 600UK pounds. I would say from some research I've done here the industry needs weed out the $200 Inspection merchants, and up the pro rata rates. A good home Inspector this side of the pond does as thorough a job as done in UK, added to this the sheer variety of systems here along with more severe climates and the propensity for litigation probably make the N.American job a lot harder. One example is the widespread use of hydronic heating systems in UK, which for the most part leak if there are problems with Heat exhanger making things a bit easier to evaluate. I am just starting out and somewhat overwhelmed by the variety and complexity of some systems. So from what I've read in forums like this I am full of admiration for the "good guys" out there who want to see the industry grow and evolve. Good day.
