    Thanks for the comments. A million molecules of air is a simplified way of saying about 200,000 molecules of oxygen and 800,000 molecules of nitrogen (neglecting minor constituents in air) . The article should have read "One PPM CO is defined as one CO molecule in one million molecules in air." Another way to look at the tanker car is 1 shot of cyanide in a tanker of milk.
